Squidrouter Swap takes longer than expected

At times, transactions may take longer than the estimated time displayed by Squidrouter. For example, a transaction initially estimated to take 20 seconds could occasionally take up to 30 minutes to complete. This article explains the background and reasons behind such delays to help you understand why they occur.

The underlying Boost technology

Boost transactions typically take about 20 seconds to complete. However, there are instances when Boost may not work as expected.

This usually happens when the Boost relayer temporarily runs out of funds. For example, if a previous user made a large transaction close to the $20,000 Boost limit, the relayer might need to wait for the underlying bridge to finalize before it can process new transactions.

In such cases, transactions are routed through the standard process, which takes more time. By pasting the transaction hash on Axelarscan, you can get an estimation of the remaining time the bridging process will take.

What can you do?

Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do in this situation except wait. Your funds will arrive as expected, but the process may take a little longer.
